Especially in Thailand in particular, "khao" appears in place names, so it should come as no surprise that both the Khao Air pants and the motorcycle jacket are equipped to perform optimally at high temperatures, even if it's in the form of a heavy shower.
This combination is not obvious, so they designed a pair of windproof pants with a waterproof, removable membrane. The Khao Air motorbike pants of Modeka consist of 50% tear- and abrasion-resistant polyamide (450D), completed with 50% mesh. The abrasion-resistant elements count double in the critical areas - where you most need good protection. Under the summer pants resulting from this you can easily zip in a water- and windproof Humax® membrane. Ventilation zippers are not necessary.
What else do you get? Two zip pockets, two velcro cargo pockets and a lot of individual customization possibilities for what at first glance looks like a very simple pair of pants. Two press buttons below the knee, two just above, a long instep zipper (easy with or without membrane!) and a velcro strip at the bottom. A central closure with button-and-slider, on top of a zipper and two adjustable velcro straps with loop. And an elastic waist. Fine accordion strips above each knee and above the seat, for extra wearing and seating comfort. That same seat has plenty of anti-slip material attached.
As simple as it seems - "a summer pants" - it is not just that. Not at all. Especially when we tell you that the waterproof but breathable Humax® membrane is pleasantly lined and therefore exceeds most of its peers. Add to that the YF knee protectors, the option to fit a good hip protector, and the possibility of attaching the Khao Air pants by means of the connection zipper to the jacket of the same name, and then you're there.
This is - especially when it comes to price/quality ratio - an absolute winner.
Khao means 'mountain' or 'rice', depending on the place in Thailand you ask about it.
