Motorcycle jeans also continue to evolve as a garment. One of the highlights for now is definitely this Glenn Cool Soft wash by Modeka. The most striking element is the complete DuPont™ kevlar lining, and before you even link that to red flared buttocks: no way.
Sure, once upon a time motorcycle jeans were synonymous with 'uncomfortable'. In exchange for a little less sweat, you sacrificed just about all your leg hair. And some skin too. The Glenn Cool Soft wash is something else. The inside of the abrasion- and wear-resistant DuPont™ kevlar lining consists of Coolmax®. Not only pleasant, comfortable and soft, but also - as the name suggests - very friendly to the skin's climate.
So basically you are wearing Coolmax® pants of which one side is covered with Kevlar and on top of which a perfect pair of jeans is fitted. These outer jeans consist of 2% elastane, just enough to have a slight stretch. Ideal when you take your seat on the bike and everything adjusts a little to that seating position.
The Glenn Cool Soft wash is a 'regular fit' - straight down - with a front that wouldn't look out of place in an old cowboy movie. Modeka also mentions 'tapered fit' in the catalogue, and the pant legs are indeed a bit tighter at the bottom. This is especially noticeable when you turn up the bottom side to make the reflecting strip visible.
The average fan of motorcycle jeans is not always a fan of (too heavy) knee protectors. Modeka provides the ultrathin SAS-TEC SC-1/KA-protectors as standard, and they are indeed really ultrathin. And flexible. To such an extent that they almost certainly go into the laundry basket if you don't pay attention for a while. Hip protection is optional, you can choose between flexible SAS-TECSC-1/KA or SAS-TEC SC-1/07.
The jeans itself could hardly be more jeans: five pockets, sturdy button, zipper and belt loops. Soft, comfortable and yet sturdy. For this price - all comfort taken into account - this is an absolute must.
Waterproof the Glenn Cool Soft wash is not.
