The Makari Lady finds herself somewhere on the border between mid-season and winter. These motorcycle gloves are meant for colder, drearier moments and for some, they will even accompany them all the way up to the winter break. Waterproof, warm and softshell – think of a cold night by the fireplace.
This is the lady’s version. Tailored to the more elegant female hand and with a dash (or two) of pink and white. The latter are merely subtle accents.
The exterior of the Makari Lady is made of softshell and goatskin, with a ratio of about 50% each, clearly chosen for their specific properties, with the wear-resistant goatskin on the palm and fingers, while the gentler softshell is used for the back of the hand. The zip on the cuff (vertical, to simplify your preference of ‘over or inside the sleeve’) forms a symbolic line of division. Also present is a Porelle® membrane with breathing and waterproof properties that keeps your hands dry.
The lining of the Makari Lady motorcycle glove is insulating and velvety. This material is called PRIMALOFT® and even though it clearly gives a certain warmth, it is still thin enough not to compromise grip or steering feel. The latter is no issue at all because this motorcycle glove has been developed with sufficient stretch and accordion material to never cause any hindrance. If it does go wrong somehow, then the flexible knuckle protector acts as a final protective barrier.
The Makari Lady is a motorcycle glove that can be donned and doffed easily in order to take off quickly. A little Velcro strap around the wrist keeps everything in place. We would categorise this cuff in the ‘medium long’ section.
There are added protective layers in all the useful places (little finger, ball of hand), soft padding on the fingers, reflective accents, a visor wiper and a touchscreen compatible index finger, lots of comfort and freedom of movement in a warm and dry glove: this is comfortable. Very comfortable.
