A jet helmet with sun peak, transparent visor and ventilation for this price is already exceptional. When we add to that the fact that the IXS 92 FG 1.0 is made of fiberglass and can therefore be called a lightweight, then you know that this is an excellent buy.
IXS makes good motorcycle helmets at competitive prices anyway. This IXS 92 FG 1.0 comes with two helmet shells that accomodate all helmet sizes. Switzerland for a compact shape and low weight. The scale goes up to 1200 grams in this case. Fiberglass also has excellent shock absorbing properties, so this is a jet helmet you can wear without worry or you just stow in any case.
The top ventilation - one easy-to-use slider - allows riding wind, which leaves the helmet shell via the rear outlet.
A long, transparent, scratch-free visor covers your entire face and allows you to open the throttle without getting short of breath. The integrated sun visor is about halfway up. The slider to operate it is located on the left side, next to the hinge point of the transparent visor. With or without motorbike gloves it is just as easy to operate, of course.
Spectacle wearers will be happy with the comfortable cutouts in the lining, which is of course removable and washable. The micrometric closure can be adjusted. The neck rim is spacious enough to be comfortable and with an eye for detail.
In some countries (e.g., France) it is mandatory to have reflective stickers on your helmet. The iXS 92 FG is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Do you dread disassembling the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
