IXS invests in the future and the future of motorcycling with this full-face helmet for children. ‘Like the big ones', but on a smaller scale.
The (helmet) shell is made of polycarbonate. Light and compact, as it should be. One helmet size is sufficient in this case. With 1250 grams on the scales, this is perfectly feasible for every small passenger.
Just like the man or woman at the handlebars - perhaps - that passenger can adjust chin and ventilation as desired. The controls are not huge, but they are sufficiently pronounced to succeed even with motorbike gloves. In any case it provides a healthy airflow inside the helmet, which leaves the helmet shell via the grilled outlet at the back.
The transparent visor offers a wide view of the surroundings and is Pinlock® lens ready. This is not included. An additional tinted visor is included in the package. Changing can be done without tools.
Inside is a removable (and therefore washable) high quality lining which ends in a wide and well-finished neck rim.
Opening and closing is done by means of a micrometric closure. This is of course adjustable.
With also a wind curtain on the chin, this motorcycle helmet for children is as good and performant as any adult helmet.
In some countries (e.g., France) is it mandatory to provide your helmet with reflective stickers. The iXS 136 is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Do you dread disassembling the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
