The first Sonar GTX was a big hit and this successor is even better. For men and women alike, with a (GTX) GORE-TEX® membrane and a sturdy lining, this is a winter glove that will give you a lot of travel pleasure when the weather is not in your favor.
Of course, this is what we expect from this caliber of motorcycle glove. And who, after reading these sentences, expects to be putting their hands in a pair of boxing gloves without much motoric possibilities, could instantly change their minds. Despite the integrated water- and windproof GORE TEX® membrane, despite the Tri-fleece lining and despite the leather and textile exterior, this remains a 'fine’ motorcycle glove, with which you can easily press a button, open a visor or operate a lever.
The palm of the hand is made up of a double layer of goatskin leather - a lot of grip, a lot of abrasion resistance - while the back of the hand is dominated by the triple leather-covered visco-elastic foam, serving as knuckle protection. So, no hard materials and above all: the right materials in the best place, in a balanced mix of leather and textile. The integrated GORE TEX® membrane is and remains the most certain guarantee for dry hands.
It feels good. Literally. Five fingertips that are also equipped with leather, the index finger touchscreen compatible. And on the left hand equipped with a rubber visor wiper, which illustrates once more that high summer is not the first (or only) season to be on the road with these motorcycle gloves.
The Sonar-GTX 2.0 is a relatively long motorcycle glove, which can be worn under or above the sleeve. The elastic strap under the thumb is assisted by a velcro strip on top of the wrist and the cuff can be made wider or narrower with velcro.
Reflective strips on the index finger and the cuff stand out sufficiently and a ‘water barrier’ at the end of the cuff prevents rainwater from entering the gloves and eventually ending up in the sleeves.
There is maintenance clothing, and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer.
