The Ultimax motorcycle trousers are the ultimate motorcycle trousers with maximum opportunities. The name already gives it away a little: this is the top product from the Macna range. Not coincidentally perfectly compatible with the eponymous motorcycle jacket, that’s also usable anywhere and anytime. So no need to worry; simply twist the throttle.
There’s a lot we can say about the Ultimax. The exterior is a combination of wear and tear resistant Durylon, dynamic stretch material and protective mesh Superfabric. There you go. That almost covers it. The Raintex®-DL stands for ‘Direct Laminate’ construction: the waterproof membrane has been processed in/against/to the outer layer of the motorcycle trousers, creating the same effect as feathers on a duck. Water slides right off, without adding weight to the motorcycle trousers. Actually, that wouldn’t be a problem, either, thanks to the ‘Waist lock’ consisting of a strong slide-and-click system. It means that the pockets can take quite a few things. Literally, because there are cargo as well as slash pockets to store things in.
Also interesting and functional is the ‘Side Eye’, consisting of cleverly placed reflective material to improve visibility from the side and mainly to prevent the heat shield from burning a piece of pants or skin on the exhaust. This will get hot either way, because the Ultimax motorcycle trousers can take you a long way. In varying circumstances; all options are open with the removable thermal lining and direct ventilation openings.
Depending on what’s on at the moment, there are a number of adjustment options as well. The adjustable straps in the waist, a press stud on the knee – where there’s accordion stretch as well – and Velcro at the bottom are the most important ones. The zip at the bottom, obviously for donning and doffing of these Ultimax motorcycle trousers, with or without motorcycle shoes on your feet. Other assets are the readiness to use Macna suspenders and the fact that your knee protectors can be reached from the outside.
We can be pretty concise about those protectors: the level 2 knee protectors are ventilated, flexible, scented and decent. You can choose to add a set of hip protectors to that as well. We’d like to repeat the fact about the reflective material here, too.
