As soon as we see 'breeze' in the name, our expectations are raised. And it has to be said: they are met. The Macna Breeze is an excellently ventilated hoodie that can be used as a full-fledged, albeit summery, motorcycle jacket.
That this is rather summery is a bit like saying the sky is blue. Although the Breeze does put some weight on the scales, this is still summer motorcycle clothing. That weight mainly comes from the combination of jersey, cotton, polyester and mesh. The large mesh panels are indeed top-notch ventilation openings, they do remain in a full-fledged motorcycle jacket. And, a full-fledged motorcycle jacket should contain wear-resistant material, preferably combined with sufficient impact protection.
You can tick off both, and all together that ensures that suit remains on anyway. Abrasion resistance comes from the aramid fibers woven into the Breeze. As for impact protection, Macna opts for RISC shoulder and elbow protectors. Not unexpected, because they are tried and tested and perfectly suited for this (flexible, soft and casual) work. Fitting this back protector (in size XL) is always possible.
The hoodie, there should be a hood attached to it. That's also the case here. However, you can take off the hood (zipper), so you don't have to be on the road flapping around, and it actually creates a kind of cardigan, sweater with zipper, light jacket.
It's all very casual, urban, smooth and accessible, it should be clear by now. You won't set any speed records or make a world tour with this. This is summery motorcycle clothing, as fast as it is safe, easy to take off and even easier to throw around your body. After which you can even adjust it a bit, depending on what you wore that morning: there's an extra press button around the sleeve. Furthermore, it's important to choose the right size for this casual fit.
The Belt Loop suggests that you choose the connection with a pair of motorcycle jeans. A Hoodie holder and Zip grip are Macna proprietary concepts we've never heard anyone complain about.
