The Centre is sold without power supply
These universal and unisex heated Centre trousers are an underlayer. They are not intended to be used as genuine motorcycle trousers. You wear the Centre underneath your protective motorcycle clothing, where they deliver lovely warm legs during those cold commutes in winter.
Like most electrically heated Macna garments, the Centre trousers also use the Dual Power Technology which allows you to choose between a 7.4 and a 12 Volt power supply, powered by a separate battery or through a cable running directly from your motorcycle battery.
Both options are sold separately. The loose battery can be a 7.4V or a 12V Li-Po type. Attention, these are NOT the same ones as used in the Macna motorcycle gloves. A 12V-battery has a higher performance in colder weather conditions but doesn’t last as long. The 7.4V-battery will last longer but give out less heat. A lot depends on your favourite heat setting.
If you opt for the cabled solution, then you’ll need two cables: a power cable (directly from the motorcycle battery, via a DIN plug (BMW) or a 12-V cigarette plug) and a spiral extension cable. You’ll need a splitter cable if you also want to plug in your heated motorcycle trousers. Connectors at the bottom of the pant legs make it very ease for the Centre to provide power to the heated Macna motorcycle socks.
There are four heating levels, each indicated in their own colour. The controller – an on/off button – tells you how much power you have left and allows you to change the heating level by pressing it.
Position | autonomie 7,4V pants | autonomie 12V pants |
---|---|---|
Level 4 (red) | 2h30 | 1h45 |
Level 3 (purple) | 3h15 | 2h15 |
Level 2 (bleu) | 4h | 2h45 |
Level 1 (white) | 5h | 3h30 |
The Centre trousers are Bluetooth connected and can be controlled with the Macna HEATED-app (Android and iOS compatible). Attention: upon installing the app, it will request location permission. If you refuse, there might be connection issues between the app and the garment. If you prefer less Bluetooth connectivity, then you can also use the Centre with the traditional button.
Seen as there are electronic parts inside these motorcycle trousers, it’s evident that they can’t be washed in the washing machine. It’s okay to wash them by hand, on condition that you hand-dry the connectors with a hair blower afterwards.
