The Nexus 2 D-WP has a number of advantages in its name: it is the second, improved version of the original Nexus motorcycle boot, which also means that it is a Dainese-Water Proof (D-WP) version.
And if there's one waterproof motorcycle boot that can carry the term 'sporty', it might be this one. Not only does the NEXUS 2 D-WP look razor sharp, it also has all the required technical features to be ridden that way.
The exterior consists mainly of microfiber (no leather) and the very high-quality D-Stone® material, although it's hard to ignore the thermoplastic-polyurethane shin guard. That last word is even a bit too limiting, because like a real exoskeleton the shiny polyurethane stretches from the ankle to the shinbone. The hinge on the ankle inspires confidence and makes walking much more comfortable than you might think at first. Since the heel is also protected by the same material, DAINESE completely creates the effect of the external protection contained in a motorcycle boot. Up to this point, it is very similar to the original Nexus. But underneath, the Nexus 2 D-WP is equipped with a membrane with breathable and waterproof features, which doubles the versatility of this sporty motorcycle boot.
Visually, the Nexus 2 D-WP is a winner. An external ankle that keeps your own ankle away from the biggest risks, this inevitably brings you close to everything sporty, sleek and sharp. And that's just fine, because with the replaceable toe glider (two hexagonal screws, the Allen key is in the box) the Italians leave nothing to the imagination: you can tear up the race track with this. Normally, you don’t feel like changing your gear, but getting in and out is fun here: the zipper of the Nexus 2 D-WP is located at the back, along the (almost) entire length of the boot. Only at the bottom does the safety of the heel cup prevail over the practical zipper, but it couldn't be much easier. Two velcro strips (5 centimeters) left and right of the zip allow you to fit the Nexus 2 D-WP perfectly to the lower leg.
The bridge contains a long strip of accordion material, which generally contributes to comfort and flexibility. This makes the Nexus 2 D-WP, not to mention waterproof, a real winner on the bike, and although you don't have to use it for GR routes, you'll still get quite far without a bike.
The rubber sole is more than 'just' a rubber sole, but we dare to say that about almost every part. These motorcycle boots consist of high-quality parts, and then the sum of those parts will be even higher.
