An energetic, lightweight motorcycle shoe with a high dose of breathability and ventilation is how we would describe the DAINESE Energyca Lady Air.
The cowhide leather exterior is perforated for that specific purpose and a mesh lining underneath lends even more power to the ventilation system and healthy air circulation. It goes without saying that there is no question of waterproofing. Choosing is always a bit of losing and we prefer to focus on what we do get from DAINESE.
That's a nice package, in an attractive design, with a clear sporty design. The reinforced toe and heel and the protection for the ankles are obvious for a motorcycle shoe of this caliber. Hard TPU on the outside of the heel and a slightly softer variation on the same theme where normally the toe slider would be, underline the fact that the Energyca Lady Air wasn't just given shape and content in between a few other works.
The inconspicuous shifting reinforcement and the reflective stripes at the back almost disappear in the line pattern that again emphasizes the sporty roots. You open and close the shoe with laces. The velcro strap is used to safely hide the laces.
The CE-certification (Cat. II - EN 13634) is a logical consequence of the smart construction and fine detailing of these ankle-high (and therefore perfectly legal) motorcycle shoes.
The higher the fashion level - and the level of ‘we don’t really look like motorcycle shoes’-, the smaller the chance your leather shoes have a full-fledged shifting reinforcement. No problem on a scooter but on a motorbike, the multitude of shifting will quickly cause wear and tear. A shame of the leather shoes because this “wear and tear” will not often be incorporated in the warranty conditions.
You’d better take precautions, give yourself a hand or a foot in this case and add an extra layer to your leather motorcycle shoe or your gear lever. There are a number of options available in our range.
