The name RAM® Quick-Grip™ Wireless Charger and Holder is quite a mouthful, but then again, this holder isn't a one trick pony. It is a smartphone mount that's also a wireless phone charger, charging your phones battery while on the go.
That makes it ideal for the bike, allowing you to use that smartphone while charging it. To be honest, that is often the problem when a smartphone doubles as a GPS. With the RAM® Quick-Grip™ Wireless Charger and Cradle this is a thing of the past.
Attaching your smartphone is effortless, even with one hand. The holder slides up and down and your smartphone snaps between the two. There's also a spring-loaded, four-way X-Grip® Technology smartphone holder with grips in an - you guessed it - X-formation.
They both have the same primary function: to ensure that at the end of your ride, the smartphone is positioned exactly where it was at the start. And if that works, the focus shifts to whether the battery lasts that long.
Wireless charging is done through the back of the phone. It is wireless because there is no cable between the smartphone and RAM® Quick-Grip™ charger. The charger must be powered by a USB cable from the vehicles battery. This can be done via a charger for USB port RAM-CHARGE-V7MU.
A push button allows you to use the RAM® Quick-Grip™ charger as a holder only, without the charging function. The LED light on the base reveals whether everything is working properly. Given the robust design of this charger, this will generally be the case.
At the back you will see the characteristic 1'' ball that serves as a basis for almost every conceivable attachment or extension.
The only condition is that you don't exceed the extreme range of the holder. The height is a minimum of 14.29 centimeters and a maximum of 16.83 centimeters. The width is a maximum of 7.94 centimeters. The depth is always 1.78 cm, if you need to know that too.
