The HJC RPHA-11 is the most advanced full-face helmet in the HJC range. The helmet has been designed especially for circuit use at the highest level. It will not surprise anyone that this is the helmet worn by HJC sponsored riders during their races.
The helmet shell is manufactured according to the P.I.M Plus method: Premium Integrated Matrix Plus. This method uses glass fiber, aramid and carbon to obtain a very light (about 1300 grams) but very solid helmet shell. The different helmet sizes of this helmet are distributed over 3 helmet shells. The shape of the shell has been specially tested in wind tunnels in order to be designed as aerodynamic as possible. For the same reasons, a spoiler was also placed on the back of the head.
No expense was spared in developing the ventilation of the RPHA-11 either, in order to provide the sporty rider with as much fresh air as possible while racing. On the chin, 3 vents are provided: 1 lockable one that blows directly on the inside of the visor to prevent fogging, and 2 lockable ones that provide fresh air directly to the rider. The latter two are even equipped with a filter. On the brow is a lockable ventilation that can directly cool the forehead of the rider. On top of the helmet there are 2 vents that can be set in 6 different positions between fully open or closed. At the back of the helmet there are 6 non-closable air vents, so all the warm air can get out. The ventilations and air outlets are connected by the 'ACS' system (Advanced Channeling Ventilation System) These are integrated air channels in the inner shell that distribute the fresh air over the entire head of the rider.
The RPHA-11 comes standard with both a clear and a dark tinted visor, both made from scratch-resistant material. Both visors are both Pinlock - and tear-off-ready. The Pinlock lens is included, the tear-off films can be purchased separately. Thanks to the RapidFire Shield Replacement System, the visor can be replaced easily and without tools, if necessary with a visor in another color. The visor can be locked in the closed position so that it remains tight and fully closed even at high racing speeds. A treatment on the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain showers.
The chinstrap of the RPHA-11 closes by means of a Double-D ring buckle, the only buckle allowed for use on the race track. In the event of an emergency, emergency services can more easily remove the helmet thanks to the Emergency Cheek Pads.
The interior of the RPHA-11 is made of Multicool fabric and treated according to Polygene technology. This allows for even better dispersion of perspiration, while the superior antibacterial effect prevents unpleasant odors. The interior is removable and hand washable.
Inside, RPHA-11 is equipped with a breath reflector, to prevent fogging of the visor.
Cutouts at the temples give the RPHA-11 a very goggle-friendly fit.
In some countries (e.g. France) it is mandatory to provide your helmet with reflective stickers. The RPHA-11 is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
