This full-face helmet is somewhere in the upper half of the HJC concept. The F70 offers - apart from a sleek and sporty style - a lot of advantages and fits perfectly in a line of top sport-touring motorcycle helmets.
The helmet shell is made from 'advanced glass fiber'. That doesn't seem to say much, but when we explain that the "advanced" refers mainly to the CAD-technology used and the glass fiber excels in its light weight and a tight fit, then we are getting closer.
Two helmet shells hold the different helmet sizes, so you're definitely not carrying unnecessary items. Good for 1540 grams on the scales. Bear in mind that there are two visors attached to this and that - as soon as you put on the HJC F70, you'll feel it - you can count on a solid interior. The shape of the helmet shell, we can say that it came out of the wind tunnel, making it even more aerodynamic. Take a look at the neckline of the HJC F70.
Prominently present and visible is the ACS ventilation system. The double chin ventilation (tilting and sliding) together with the de-duplicated top ventilation is specially designed to actively remove heat and moisture. This discharge must take place at the rear, where two outlets are installed for this purpose. The whole ‘outlet’ concept takes up a serious chunk of the helmet shell at the back. Despite all those inlets and outlets, the HJC F70 has a traditional, somewhat elongated shape. Only the lower left slider jumps out - mainly figuratively. The tinted sun visor is easily operated with gloves.
We can elaborate on the visors. First of all, there is the transparent, wide visor with the striking nod at the bottom center. This time, the style literally connects to the bottom half of the helmet and also accentuates the very prominent nose deflector of the HJC F70. This is appropriate, as it contributes to the sporty style. Those who are a little less fanatical, or when circumstances require it, can remove the nose deflector in an instant. Anti-scratch and anti-fog features are to be expected in this price and quality category.
The sun visor then: tinted, wide, with an extra wide field of vision but also directly connected to the nose deflector, is absolutely an important element of the HJC F70. It allows you to ride longer with the transparent visor open.
The Pinlock® lens is not only provided, it's also just in the box. Those who wear glasses can also rest assured: this motorcycle helmet is equipped with the necessary cutouts, to make it all fit smoothly and easily.
This way, we gradually reach the inside of the HJC F70, where there is no question of 'the' interior. Of course, the removable and washable Multicool lining is always present anti-bacterially and neutralizes any odors, but the cheek pads are interchangeable for each helmet size. The HJC F70 is in this way a very individual motorcycle helmet, in which you almost have to make an extra effort to make it fit badly. Especially when you have the HJC F70 in the right size for the first time, you will notice how all-encompassing comfortable and supportive this motorcycle helmet feels.
The HJC F70 is prepared for the Smart HJC communication system. In the rear neck rim, the label ‘Smart HJC' clearly indicates where the necessary modules can be fitted.
Double-D ring is an obvious choice to close the motorcycle helmet. The wind curtain chin is present but certainly not too prominent and you notice on the sense for detail (and red stitching), that the HJC F70 really does have a place in that upper half of the HJC concept.
Maintenance tips:
- Do you cringe at disassembling the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
