The success of the summer Eclipse made REV'IT! decide to develop a more seasoned, waterproof but still competitively priced version for the other seasons as well. The Shade H2O is exactly that: the basics of motorcycling in a jacket that is constructed as simply as possible, without being simple.
The Shade H2O also exists in a ladies’ version.
"Make it as simple as necessary, but not simpler", is a quote from Albert Einstein and it applies perfectly here. The Shade H2O honors simplicity but doesn't drop any stitches and in the end still has something to offer. The 600D polyester shell is durable and with an integrated Hydratex® mesh G-liner you get a breathable but waterproof buffer.
The removable thermal lining makes the Shade H2O the counterpart of a summer jacket. And at the same time, it allows you to cover the whole year with the Shade and the Eclipse. It explains the absence of ventilation zippers in this Shade: why hollow out the winter or mid-season version when you can hang a perfectly summery version on your coat rack?
Under the skin there's still something going on, because a motorcycle jacket of this caliber and with these ambitions obviously has sufficient impact protection on board. SEESMART™ elbow and shoulder protectors do the job perfectly, and those who wish can fit a SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector. In the same theme, laminated, reflective accents give you extra visibility.
The Shade H2O is short. Typical REV'IT, but we'll go even further. The Shade H2O is neither too narrow nor too wide, for a good reason: you put on a jacket like this one because it's practical, when the need arises. Not after a whole changing session.
Just a convenient cut, under which almost anything goes. Short is indeed the right choice, and with two belt loops you can easily and comfortably prevent the thing from bulging and you're on the road with your lower back bare. With a collar with snap button, an extra button on the upper arms and velcro strips on sleeve ends and waist you can adjust everything just enough to always stay comfortable.
There is storage space in the two zippered side pockets and the inner pocket. The combination with a good pair of motorcycle jeans seems a logical first choice.
There is maintenance clothing and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer. We put the best tips and tricks on this maintenance page.
