This battery status/charging monitor is for 12V lead-acid batteries. It plugs into any standard automotive power or cigar socket, and checks the charging status and/or confirms the correct functioning of the charging system.
The greatest benefit of this SAE-to-12V power outlet adapter is that it comes with a built-in voltage indicator. In other words, a charge monitor is integrated into the 12V power port, allowing you to monitor the proper operation of your charging system in real time.
The cable between the connectors is a nice and short 15 cm. The connector fits any standard diameter (Ø21-22mm) and a 10A fuse protects the electronics. The SAE quick-connect charging port is fitted with a protection cap.
The monitor itself then: four LEDs show the voltage range, from full to empty, of all types of 12V batteries, including AGM batteries with a higher voltage (fourth LED ≥ 12.7V).
When the engine is running, the LED arrow mode is activated if the charge voltage is at least 13.5V (green LED) or is within the ideal range of more than 14V (green LED).
