The buffalo leather Owen is a motorcycle jacket with classic, tough allures, a waterproof membrane and a thermal lining. Real vintage Segura. True, with just the right number of buttons, zippers, buckles and diamond stitches to add that extra dimension to surpass ‘plain’.
A tough classic with very contemporary characteristics, that’s how you could describe it. The waterproof membrane is not removable, something that cannot be said of the 90-gram heavy thermal lining. Both open the gates to a very wide usability range. Summer even seems to be the biggest challenge, however, don’t underestimate the breathing capacities of the shiny, smooth buffalo leather. The mesh lining inside the Owen takes care of everything else. There is no real ventilation, so it's best to take that into account: this isn’t made for high-summer. Warm and waterproof, yes.
A leather motorcycle jacket like this Owen is supposed to fit nicely. This is a regular fit, but it’s still a short leather motorcycle jacket. Leather is known to settle a bit and Segura offers a few options: the waist and cuffs are – thanks to pushbuttons and buckles – adjustable for a couple of centimetres. It is remarkable how the zipper right above the waist is also able to add a few centimetres in length. A cold, draughty ride met your lower back half bare should no longer be a possibility.
The elbows (horizontal) and the sides (diamond) got stitches that give the jacket its relief and that add that extra touch of toughness to the mix. Something the black leather is already known for.
Impact protection is provided by the CE-certified OMEGA elbow and shoulder protectors. These are just as flexible as they are tangible, so the emphasis is mainly on wearing comfort and a pleasant feel, not on breaking speed records between traffic lights. The back protector – obviously a CE-certified one – can be fitted optionally in the specified compartment.
Speaking of storage compartments: 4 outer pockets with zipper, an extra pocket on the forearm, two inner pockets and an additional napoleon pocket give quite a number of options.
The combination with classical motorcycle trousers or motorcycle jeans is evident.
