The Peak is a somewhat atypical Segura motorcycle glove. The combination of goatskin leather (palm) and softshell (back of the hand) gives a modern impression. The short cut of the Peak, with an elastic wrist that allows the short cuff to fit well, is just as much a contemporary element.
However, Segura usually makes a point of preserving the classic, vintage, old-school, retro-vibe in their motorcycle clothing. Here they seem to leave that idea for a moment by opting for softshell. For the bike and the steering feel it doesn't matter. The palm is still goatskin leather: wear-resistant and excellent to keep grip.
The softshell on the outside 'softens' the Peak glove a bit. Not that there was much need for it: as soon as your hands slide into the insulating, 60-gram heavy thermal lining, you get an instant happy feeling. Warm and not too thick or heavy, it is possible. Still, these gloves are very suitable for the off-season. The short cuff is something for the lover of motorcycle gloves that do not overlap 100% with the sleeve ends. The elastic wrist and velcro strip do an excellent job, but there is still a chance that there is a gap between the glove and the motorcycle jacket sleeve.
Otherwise there are no restrictions. Between the thermal lining and the outside in goatskin/softshell there is a waterproof membrane. The mid-season comes with variable weather types. On the other hand, you can also count on excellent breathability.
The impact protection consists mainly of a sturdy, hard knuckle protector. On the palm and fingers Segura opted for an extra layer of leather or padding. The fingertips are touchscreen compatible (Sensor System).
