The Stella T-Jaws V3 is a distinctly sporty and feminine motorcycle jacket. Both in style and function, this is a top product. And it doesn't stop there: the choice of textile and the integration of a membrane open a lot of extra doors.
Of course, the external shoulder sliders, the short cut, the low collar, even the pre-shaped sleeves have a clear link with sporty motorcycling. Alpinestars makes no effort to hide that either. Why should they? You get in this motorcycle jacket all the knowledge and all the features that the Italian manufacturer is known for. And then some. Those who know a bit about it, know that 'Stella' - star - emphasizes the typical feminine fit and cut of this top.
The textile exterior is a combination of polyester and stretch material. This results in a wear- and tear-resistant ensemble with sufficient freedom of movement and comfort. An integrated (non-removable) waterproof membrane adds an extra level. To push the possibilities even further towards the extremes, Alpinestars provides a (removable) thermal lining and strategically placed ventilation zippers (under the arms and on the back). When you add all that up, you come to the conclusion that this is a clearly sporty jacket that dares to put some touring ambitions on the tarmac.
Although you cannot expect everything. The storage space is large by sports standards, but cannot possibly compete with the touring jackets that want to ride around the world. Although you can ask the question if that is your intention? Ride around the world? If not, then the Stella T-Jaws V3 will surprise you very pleasantly as a daily commuting partner.
Also the protective material is - what did you expect from Alpinestars? - on a high (sporty) level. With a pair of Level 1 Alpinestars Bio Armor protectors on both shoulders (GP Lite) and elbows, the Stella T-Jaws V3 leaves many similar motorcycle jackets far behind. External sliders are fitted on the shoulders. They do not stand out excessively due to a layer of fabric but they are definitely present. All preparations are made to quickly fit the Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2 certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1 certified) or Nucleon KR-R CELL back protector (level 2 certified, snap-on system).
The collar - 3D, comfortably padded - is a bit of an illustration of the motorcycle jacket as a whole: it's finished. Pleasant. Sporty (low) but comfortable (soft). That combination is the common thread throughout. Adjustment possibilities are at the upper arms (push button) and waist (velcro), although you should dare to choose 'tight' for this sporty cut. Sufficient reflective material makes you extra visible in less visible circumstances.
Thanks to the long connecting zipper this motorcycle jacket is attachable to virtually any Alpinestars motorcycle pants.
