A two-piece leather suit like the Stella Missile V2 opens up possibilities for the female biker who commutes to work during the week, goes for a sunny trip in the weekend and who likes to frequent the track every now and again. Two out of three is enough to justify going for this combo.
Don’t underestimate the ‘Lady’ in this ensemble. In the world of Alpinestars, ‘Stella’ is only used for the brightest stars in the universe: the ladies. This also means that the cut of this two-piece suit matches the female anatomy.
As a combination suit, this Stella Missile has had a second version (V2) and the Tech-Air® 5-airbag jacket can be incorporated.
Furthermore, a lot of ‘Missile’, which means a sturdy, wear- and tear-resistant leather exterior that’s assisted by a bucketload of extras to emphasize the fully-fledged racing attitude of this motorbike suit. The basic ingredient is 1.3mm cowhide – double-layered where useful – but the spices are found in the DFS shoulder, elbow and knee protection. Together, these external sliders form the Dynamic Friction Shield; the best possible warranty for minimal injury when things go south. Or north. Or sideways. The external knee sliders are interchangeable of course, removable, replaceable… It is clear that they are there to be used.
Formidable anatomical structuring with sufficient stretch material ensure that the sliders stay where they are supposed to stay. Same goes for the cowhide and the internal protectors. Control is a fact, in all circumstances. The stretch material supports the pre-shaped race cut with slightly bent arms and legs. For those who are still exploring: a race suit that forces you to sit in the correct position, postpones fatigue.
The downside is that a purebred racing suit like the Stella Missile V2 in two parts is not waterproof. The question is, how tight do you want those lap times in wet conditions, and this illustrates the priorities of the Stella Missile V2. The CE-certification as class AAA (category II prEN17092) confirms it, just like the presence of a whole lot of race-specific protectors. GP-R-Armor is, besides very protective, also very flexible, thin, light and comfortable. The hip protector is Bio-Flex which all together delivers a firm cocoon of impact protection.
A CE-certified Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2-certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1- certified) or Nucleon KR-R CELL back protector (level 2- certified, snap-on system) can be fitted optionally.
Like we said before: you can still move rather freely in this cocoon. It is still enjoyable. Tight, too. Or better: Tight, certainly. A motor racing suit – even when two-piece - needs to be like a second skin. In the first few weeks or months, the cowhide will ‘settle’. It should fit like a glove and without too much extra space in that first fitting.
The limited number of storage pockets give away that the Stella Missile V2 does not need to be a pedigree racing suit. You probably won’t take a whole lot with you anyway, but there’s the option. And while you were thinking about that, your attention is being drawn by the aerodynamic racing hump, the flat zippers, the tight design and the speed that is lurking around the corner.
We recommend regular treatment with a water-repellent maintenance product. This treatment ensures that the jacket does not get wet and also ensures that dirt does not attach to the jacket. For longer-term maintenance, we recommend using a spray for matte leather, so that the leather remains supple.
