The Denali Aerogel Drystar®-motorcycle gloves are quite a mouthful for what are actually compact and outstanding winter gloves. The focus lies on insulating performance; why make things harder than they should be, right?
What if you could ‘just’ keep your hands on body temperature? Despite the environment? That would most often mean you’ve passed the point of talking about motorcycle gloves. This is, however, the starting point of the Denali Aerogel Drystar®-motorcycle gloves, that have been provided with PrimaLoft® Gold Aerogel-insulation panels specifically for that purpose. Another mouthful.
The fact remains that the fingers have been equipped with this material and combined with the rest of the construction, this ensures that your hands steering the motorcycle remain warm. Just warm is not enough, though, right. We are talking about motorcycle gloves here. The mixture of materials used reads like a who-is-who in a catalogue of motorcycle clothing: stretch polyester material, softshell and Ripstop-panels, ARshield strategic reinforcements. The result is a decent combination of comfort, protection, tear-resistance and weather-resistant properties. About that last element: the Drystar®-membrane is waterproof and breathable.
This means that your hands stay dry in wet conditions, while the insulating material PrimaLoft® Gold Aerogel keeps the wind chill within limits. That’s the main goal. PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Aerogel is a light, solid material that consists mainly of air pockets that form an insulation buffer to block the cold.
The Denali Aerogel Drystar® motorcycle glove remains relatively tight and thin despite(?) all these materials and air. You still feel what you’re wearing and with a little coordination you can effortlessly operate even the smaller smartphones. That the tips of the gloves are touch screen-compatible, helps of course, but still: winter motorcycle gloves often excel in their lack of finesse, which is clearly not the case here.
The leather on the palm – double-layered where needed – and the visco-elastic knuckle protector are the most prominent safety elements, the accordion material on the back of the hand takes away the visual attention and all these combined have one simple goal: to link comfort and flexibility to safety.
The Denali Aerogel Drystar® motorcycle gloves give their wearers the option: over or underneath the sleeve. They are sufficiently long and the cuff (velcro) is adjustable.
