Motorcycle pants, motorcycle jacket, motorcycle gloves… If you want, you can hit the road completely ‘Andes’ and then maybe these mid-season gloves are the ideal familiarization? We predict that it won’t stop there, once you have encountered the assets of the Andes.
Mid-season can be interpreted quite broadly, by the way. The Stella Andes V3 Drystar® is waterproof, which takes you quite far – in times of heated handlebars. And it shows. Especially because Alpinestars has already developed their third version (V3) of this.
The wear- and tear-resistant exterior is composed out of a mix of textile and goatskin leather. The goatskin on the palm of the hand is an extra asset with regard to steering feel and grip. The backside in ripstop contributes to a proper fit and comfort. Underneath that solid exterior, there’s a Drystar®-membrane. Waterproof and breathable, like it should, but by now – version V3 – with sufficient feel to operate all functions on your handlebars effortlessly.
Evidently, every motorcycle glove is a balancing act. To protect hands and to control a motorcycle at the same time. This balance is almost perfect in the Stella Andes V3 Drystar®. The stretch panels offer extra comfort, flexibility and freedom of movement, while the visco-elastic knuckle protector ensures excellent impact protection. Not only does it supply it, it stands out doing it. Double layers of leather are not as conspicuous, although they are very much present.
As a decent all-rounder, the length of the Stella Andes V3 Drystar® leaves a little margin. The cuff is long enough to fit underneath the sleeve should you prefer. Touchscreen-compatible fingertips and discrete reflection complete the package.
Well, at least, what gloves are concerned. There’s also the motorcycle pants, the motorcycle jacket, the motorcycle boots …
