The Karakum Base is one of the most recent advancements of the well-known GORE-TEX Quattrotempi collection by the German manufacturer. The name might have lost some of its ring by now but these all-seasons trousers still manage to link all the characteristic protective measures to lots of comfort.
What’s remarkable here is the ‘over & under’ GORE-TEX membrane that can be worn inside as well as over the motorcycle trousers. Or stand-alone, as rain cover. The exterior of these textile motorcycle trousers is made of AIRGUARD 500D. This accounts for wear and tear-resistant properties, including sufficient ventilation options. The removable GORE-TEX membrane has been designed to fit on top as well as inside motorcycle trousers. It prevents the exterior of the motorcycle trousers from soaking up buckets of water. It has a comfort-increasing and quick-drying effect on the Karakum Base. If needed, you can always adjust the temperatures by using the vent zips, easily accessible on the upper legs.
CE-approved D30 protectors on the knees provide the protection you need and can be adjusted in height. There are CE-approved ones on the hips as well.
Not too visible during the day but very effective reflective material provides an augmented visibility in all circumstances.
The mid-length zipper at the bottom (outside) and a Velcro strip allow for very easy access and leave you the option to wear your motorcycle boots inside or over your trousers.
There are plenty of customisation options in the waist and press studs in the front and back allow for the use of suspenders. Once closed, the Karakum stays closed: with a hook and button closure, supplemented with a zip and Velcro strip, you can be sure of that.
The Karakum Base is an all-rounder that can be used from 1 January all the way to the end of December, ideally combined with the Karakum Top by Held.
