Mid-cut motorcycle boots with trekking allure and above all a high degree of comfort, ease of use and versatility, that's what these Pioneer GTX motorcycle boots stand for. In a very successful attempt to also take their motorcycle boots to the top level, REV'IT! has secured the long-awaited GORE-TEX® license, and has re-designed pretty much their entire collection.
The result is a number of absolute classics, and this Pioneer GTX has a lot to offer. This Pioneer GTX has more than its place as a semi-high motorbike shoe. Half high, that means a shaft of 20 centimeters: too high to say 'ankle-high' and just a bit too low to be a real 'boot'. It doesn't diminish the adventurous qualities of these Pioneer GTX motorcycle boots. Did we mention the waterproofing? The Pioneer GTX was designed by REV'IT! specifically to allow the GORE-TEX® to perform in the best conditions. And it's no coincidence that this height ‘between the two’ turns out to be an almost ideal companion.
When it comes to the protective properties of the Pioneer GTX, REV'IT! tilts the balance towards motorcycle footwear. The abrasion-resistant outer shell in rubber, SuperFabric™ and leather creates a solid first layer. The SEESOFT®-protector is integrated in the tongue of this top motorcycle shoe and the heel is extra strengthened with a cup.
The sides are made significantly firmer and the Vibram® Apex sole is just a little bit too robust to compete with the real trekking shoes when it comes to long walks. However, if you ask us: the BOA® fastener that secures the Pioneer GTX (and every other REV'IT! boot of the same generation) has permanently consigned the lace to the waste bin. The cycling enthusiast will know BOA® above all from its racing shoes and this type of closure creates a perfect fit, is quick and easy, and tightens the Pioneer GTX uniformly, and from an engineering point of view, a BOA® is also light as a feather.
The Pioneer GTX is a great motorcycle shoe with biker boot appeal. It can easily be found among the trekking shoes, but it stands out when it comes to the robust, solid protection and waterproof qualities. Oh, and they are faster, lighter and smoother than all those hikers combined.
The obligatory reflective element is discreet.
