The Apex is a leather motorcycle jacket, obviously raised in racing, for sporty race fans who mainly want to take their bike to the streets. Right in the middle between everyday street use and sporty racing vibes. On the way to work, with MotoGP technology on board, that sort of thing.
The colors and lines come straight from the top half of the Apex motorcycle suit. Just as a host of other traits are a sort of street-ready translation of the one-piece racing suit of the same name. The frequently perforated monaco performance cowhide, the air channels in 3D air mesh on the shoulders, the ample presence of stretch material (PWR|SHELL), these are top components in both variations on the same theme. And in this version that means profit, because the motorcycle jacket on its own normally gets a little less to endure.
It means that you are on the road with surplus and that is always a pleasant feeling. Purely on looks, it's all very fast and sharp. Still, REV'IT adds a dose of extra comfort with its removable thermal lining. It's only when water is pouring in that the Apex doesn't have a ready answer, but there are obviously other solutions.
The shoulder and outer elbow sliders are 'dual-comp sliders' which - provided that an Allen key is present - are easily interchangeable. Both provide enough reference points to allow you to really push the boundaries of physics, although as a motorcycle jacket for street use the Apex may not quite serve that purpose.
This is also illustrated by the integrated safety equipment, which is one small step lower than in the motorcycle racing suit. Well, with SEEFLEX® elbow and shoulder protectors you're still quite good on the road. The Apex is prepared to be fitted with an optional SEESOFT® CE back protector or a SEESOFT® Air CE back protector, and can also accommodate a SEESOFT® CE level 1 chest protector.
There are not very many customization options. And they are not necessary. Velcro on the waist is enough, just like a zipper on the sleeve ends. There are two side pockets, one napoleon pocket and an inner pocket in the thermal lining. The reflective material is limited but sufficient.
A short and long connection zipper are present(Apex motorcycle pants!), though combining them with a good pair of motorcycle jeans also seems a logical choice, and so REV'IT! has provided a double Belt Loop.
There is maintenance clothing and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. Invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer.
