‘Eco Friendly’ is an extraordinary label in the motorcycle clothing industry but for the Patrol motorcycle jacket, Segura uses materials like recycled Serica Twill, which is quite noteworthy. By the way, ‘recycled’ doesn’t mean that it’s second-hand after a fall.
Don’t be misguided by the visual resemblance of the Patrol with a shirt: this is pure motorcycle gear, a pure-bred motorcycle jacket and waterproof at that. For the latter, Segura counts on the integrated waterproof membrane. A ventilation system that consists of two direct openings on the chest and an outlet on the back, generates plenty of air cooling on the way. If you unzip those ventilation openings, you’ll see a glimpse of the mesh lining that’s made of recycled REPREVE® Unifi-fibres.
The permeability of the Patrol is excellent and is therefore more versatile than you’d expect at first glance. A closer inspection reveals that there is a lot of ‘jacket’ that’s worth your money. Underneath the robust and wear-resistant Serica Twill exterior hides a 90-gram heavy removable thermal lining. Nicely finished with diamond stitches, because, you know, Segura. Even prettier: the two skulls that were integrated as an alternative to regular rivets. Lovely detail, is what we think of that.
This is as ‘street’ as ‘street’ can be. The Patrol is a motorbike jacket to actually patrol the town with. Lame remark, we know, but we needed something to bridge to the Patrol as a credible, wearable motorbike jacket-next-to-the-bike. Once your motorbike has been parked, the Patrol effortlessly takes on its second persona. Four exterior pockets and three interior ones make sure you can keep quite some stuff close. The elbow and shoulder protectors by ALPHA are of the ‘we are not in the way’ type, which is a bonus when your motorbike is nowhere near. A back protector can be fitted optionally.
The Patrol is a short motorbike jacket with a couple of centimetres of individual adjustment options in the waist, by means of pushbuttons. These can also be found – with a zip – on the sleeve ends.
There's maintenance clothing and then there's clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after you buy it and enjoy your gear for longer.
