The Taran motorcycle trousers match the Taran motorcycle jacket like the front and rear wheels do a motorcycle. These sturdy 2-in-1 are a pair of all-rounders with a removable membrane and sufficient ventilation options to guide you through spring, summer and fall.
According to the very extensive size table of the motorcycle jacket, the range of Taran motorcycle trousers expands to no less than – sit tight – 24 different sizes. The person that doesn’t fit any hasn’t been born yet.
The exterior of an all-rounder such as the Taran consists of wear-resistant fabric. Modeka opted for a combination of 750D Tactel®, 500 D Cordura®, ripstop and 500D Polyamide. Wear-resistant lightweights – all combined they do place some weight in the scales, though – that offer proper backup and protection but that never hinder or get in the way.
You can interpret that ‘protection’ in a few ways. Wind and rain will stay on the right side of the removable Humax®membrane. This water and windproof membrane is a familiar name at Modeka’s and carries out its duties wonderfully. The ventilation openings on the upper legs and calves are good. Not the same size of their colleagues in the motorcycle jacket – where ventilation can be completely opened up with magnets – but sufficient to let riding wind in and bring refreshment. Another option is focusing on the impact protection and then we are referring to the (height-adjustable) YF®-protectors on the knees. Level 1, CE-certified and optionally supplemented with SAS-TEC® SC-1/07 or SC-1/KA.
There are a couple of adjustment options in the waist in the form of Velcro straps and elasticised inserts but like we said before: with 24 available sizes it’s up to you to choose wisely at that point. There are, however, a couple of options in the waist and at the ankles.
Modeka developed the Taran with a proper eye for detail. The stretch areas on, around and in the back of the waist and knees perform excellently, assisted by the X-design that properly shapes the groin area. The back – the lower back – runs high to make sure the typical motorcycle sitting position is still comfortable.
Two slash pockets with zipper provide proper storage space. The reflective strips (3M) do as they are told during the night without being too conspicuous during the day.
