Gianni Falco produces a full-fledged (and legal) motorcycle shoe with the Lennox 2, although you don't see it right away. 'Still not on' we should actually say, because this Lennox 2 is the successor of the Lennox-without-numbers. A successor that has retained many good elements.
The nod to the basketball shoes of the brand that consists of 'all stars', or the old footwear of the boxer, they are still there. And yet, there's more to the ... foot: the Lennox 2 remains a pretty rugged shoe, and that's where the sturdy and thick sole comes in for a lot. Just like the tip and the top of the tongue, this sole consists of full grain leather that was given an oil treatment.
The shoe itself has an 'Air Tech ventilated liner' as main component, which gives a summery and pleasant result. Waterproofing should of course not be expected, although a few drops will not be a disaster. The leather tip eliminates the need for additional link reinforcement. While there are no specific reinforcements to be found on the heel or toe, the Lennox 2 is still clearly a lot sturdier than the run-of-the-mill sneaker.
More important is the D3O® ankle cup that provides extra protection to the most vulnerable joint. This is an upgrade over the previous version.
You can get in and out - depending on your preference - by means of the long laces or the zipper on the side. The latter will work just a little faster and to prevent damage to your motorcycle, you hide the trigger of the zipper afterwards behind the velcro strip provided. After parking, you can also use it to get around town or to work without any problems.
The rest of the outfit should, of course, be similar. So no racing suit, but a good pair of motorcycle jeans and a leather jacket. Sunglasses and jet helmet seem equally appropriate.
The higher the fashion level - and the level of ‘we don’t really look like motorcycle shoes’ -, the smaller the chance your leather shoes have a full-fledged shifting reinforcement. No problem on a scooter but on a motorbike, the multitude of shifting will quickly cause wear and tear. A shame of the leather shoes because this “wear and tear” will not often be incorporated in the warranty conditions.
You’d better take precautions, give yourself a hand or a foot in this case and add an extra layer to your leather motorcycle shoe or your gear lever. There are a number of options available in our range.
