The Macna Aspire is a laminated motorcycle jacket and no, there’s no error on the price tag. This is why the term ‘budget friendly’ was invented. An aspiring motorcycle jacket, this Aspire; the best warranty for a dry motorbike ride.
Raintex®-DL stands for ‘Direct Laminate’ construction: the waterproof membrane has been processed in/against/to the outer layer of the motorcycle jacket, creating the same effect as feathers on a duck. Water slides right off, without weighing the motorcycle jacket down. This doesn’t negatively affect any other aspect, either, because the ripstop the outer layer is made of, is still a wear and tear resistant warranty for a solid, comfortable and not too heavy motorcycle jacket. We can even put a weight on it: just a little over 2 kilograms, which isn’t excessive for a motorcycle jacket of this calibre.
Despite that, Macna provides a Coat hanger on the back. A sturdy one at that, which underlines once again the aspirations of this Aspire. It’s not even the only technical element in this motorcycle jacket: the Easy cuff sleeve ends prevent annoying loops and press studs from getting in the way by attaching the thermal lining to the outer layer of the jacket with a zip. Oh right, we hadn’t mentioned that thermal lining yet. It’s a removable one and it broadens the Aspire’s versatility even more. Back to the technical elements, where we are happy to list the Electric Power Guide. ‘EPG’ allows you to guide any electric cables for heated motorcycle gloves through your motorcycle jacket to prevent hiccups, fouling, confusion and what not. By the way, we would categorise the Aspire as all-round-motorcycle-jacket-with-a-preference-for-anything-not-highsummer. Rather chillier than too hot.
The Aspire can be adjusted quite well. Press studs on the lower arms, two centring straps, sleeve ends and a collar with Velcro … the options on this motorcycle jacket are legion.
You decide on the CE-certified back protector and potential chest protection, the level 1 elbow protection and level 1 shoulder protection (RISC) come standard. Decent protectors, by the way, ventilated and (slightly) perfumed, and their sturdiness is perfectly fitting for this motorcycle jacket. The reflective details do their jobs perfectly and contribute to your safety in that way.
We found two wide slash pockets and a chest pocket on the outside. On the inside, there’s direct access to the napoleon pocket, even opening without the (just out of centre) second, underlying zipper. If you do so, you’ll find two spaces to integrate chest protection if wanted and a little storage compartment in the removable thermal lining.
