In their pedigree, this SHARK Evo GT stands next to the SHARK Evo ES. And where the ES limits itself to the essence, the GT jumps out as a double homologated motorcycle helmet by extra attention to details and a number of fine but good improvements.
Compact, light and very versatile, this motorcycle helmet with its double homologation, as a full-fledged full-face helmet and just as full-fledged jet helmet, is a definite asset. The initial teething problems have meanwhile disappeared from the Evo-helmets in this SHARK Evo GT a number of improvements have been worked on again. The Shark Evo GT weighs 1650 grams and is made of an injected thermoplastic. The helmet sizes are divided over two helmet shells, because compactness and lightness remain important.
The patented 'auto-up & auto-down' system that allows you to flip the chin piece up and down in one smooth motion gives this helmet family their distinctive look. In the Evo GT version it's been fine-tuned again, making it easy to switch between full-face and jet helmet. On the road the chin guard does not make contact with the helmet shell and the return is smoother than in previous versions.
A good and healthy airflow also starts with the central chin ventilation, which is easy to operate with motorcycling gloves. We almost want to say 'smoother', because the ventilation opening has been redesigned and is slightly larger. There is also a new design at the top, where the top ventilation still consists of two sliders. These are slightly larger, with more relief, so that you can better feel what's where in motorbike gloves. The spoiler from earlier and other Evo versions is gone.
The Evo GT has a built-in sun visor, the slider of which is located between the two top vents. In the unfolded position, as a full-face helmet, the sun visor reaches almost up to the chin piece. The transparent visor of the Evo GT is a serious upgrade, with Pinlock® lens included. The 120 max vision version of that Pinlock® lens is the best on the market.
The interior of the Evo GT has also been upgraded. Both the bottom finish - the neckline - and the inside are better, tighter and more detailed. The removable, washable and hypoallergenic interior has of course remained. Remarkable are the extra cheek pads in the box of every SHARK Evo GT: by fitting the ideal thickness in your specific helmet, you get custom-made pads.
The inner shell is equipped to mount intercom speakers. With the Shark Easy fit system this motorcycle helmet is also easy to use by glasses wearers. The motorcycle helmet has a length-adjustable, soft chin strap with a micrometric closure that can be adjusted very precisely. A well finished and yet a tad finer neck rim reduces the risk of whiplash.
The wind curtain chin uses a magnetic folding system. A plastic loop allows you to better cover the chin piece. After a short tap, everything returns to its original state.
The Shark Evo GT allows you to ride comfortably in winter, summer and everything in between. And where the earlier versions sometimes showed some teething problems and the ES version limits itself to the essence, with this Evo GT you get a very versatile, well finished and comfortable motorcycle helmet on your head.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
The mandatory reflective stickers to stick on the helmet in France are included.

Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
