‘A climate-neutral motorcycle boot’, is how IXS describes this 2-Zip-SYM. The waterproof Sympatex®-membrane is made of recycled polyester, although the term could also refer to the climate-versatility of this full-grain cowhide motorbike boot.
You don’t have to look far for the meaning of the ‘2-Zip-SYM’: two zips per boot, symmetrically. This mainly means: easy as a house slipper. You slide in these, aided by the textile lining that has also been composed of recycled polyester.
What’s more, the two zippers left and right do not hinder the motorcycle boot from being one uninterrupted unit up to about 20cm high. Not unimportant when striving for waterproofness.
Your sliding foot will eventually halt on a comfortable footbed, surrounded by a whole lot of reinforcements that turn this IXS 2-Zip-SYM into a solid motorcycle boot. Heel, ankle, shin and toe, can all count on impact protection. Not too conspicuous because tucked neatly underneath the cowhide, but definitely present and solid.
The rubber Vibram sole keeps both feet on the ground firmly until you get on. On the road, it is a pleasant place to be in these watertight motorbike boots, partly thanks to the soft accordion panels and especially the excellently stretching calf. And before you can assume that these stretch panels are not waterproof, you observe that they are placed higher than the 20cm we talked about earlier.
