Good motorcycle pants should be comfortable, offer a lot of protection – impact as well as against weather conditions – and should also look good. Three essential conditions perfectly met by the Tallinn ST 2.0 by IXS.
‘ST’ refers to the integrated solto-TEX®-membrane keeping this all-rounder water- and windproof. Just like its predecessor (without the 2.0), the Tallinn ST 2.0 is available in a men’s version as well as a version lady bikers will appreciate.
Back to the beginning: there’s no haggling at this price. These textile motorbike pants can be used from 1 January up to 31 December.
The exterior consists of 600D polyester, infamous amongst the biker aficionadas for its wear- resistant properties. A removable, not too thick thermal lining allows some temperature variation, depending on the season or necessity. The ventilation characteristics of these pants create possibilities in summer. Indeed, despite the fixed membrane: the mesh lining creates quite the comfortable climate.
There are no extremes with the Tallinn ST 2.0. You can ride to its namesake city in them, but probably not in winter. Or through a series of circuits and track days. These are ‘regular’ motorcycle pants for ‘regular’ circumstances that match the ‘better than regular’ price.
Accordion panels above the knee and (polyamide) stretch fabric at the groin are an added value to the wearing comfort and freedom of movement of these all-round motorbike pants.
Anti-skid material on the seat ensures a correct sitting position, that is maintained as well. The back is finished a little higher than the front to make sure there is plenty of protection, even when sitting in the typical riding position. With Velcro in the waist and upper legs, there’s plenty of variation. A half-long zipper below the knee delivers the required fitting comfort, even when wearing motorbike boots.
The knee protectors that come standard can be adjusted slightly height-wise and are CE-certified. At the hips, there are foam pads that can quickly be replaced by CE-approved ones should you want to.
Once it’s closed up, the Tallinn ST 2.0 stays closed: hook closure, with zipper and Velcro strip make sure of that. The other way round, you can get out of them pretty fast as well, which accentuate the ‘I wear these motorbike pants like regular pants’-possibilities.
The long connecting zipper fits all the motorcycle jackets of the IXS range.
