Casual and stylish, those are the keywords that describe these suede Chrome motorcycle shoes. We’d also like to add trendy, modern, fun, light to wear and yet protective. The Chrome sneakers don’t look like motorcycle shoes; which is completely intentional.
The Chrome motorcycle shoes come in different sizes, types and colours. In this version, the exterior is (mainly) suede and not necessarily waterproof. Spring to Autumn, in other words, when the sun is out.
Don’t be fooled by its relaxed appearance: Alpinestars is so intertwined with sporty biking that there are always aspects and technology seeping through from the top class to the more accessible, urban applications. That is also the case here.
With their tight silhouette and contemporary styling, these Chrome motorcycle shoes could easily pass for regular sneakers and city shoes. They have the breathing capacity and the comfort for it, thanks to the OrthoLite-insock® that literally takes care of your feet. Nonetheless, there are ankle protectors present and the heel and toe reinforcements offer a dose of protection as well.
Alpinestars applies the (recently developed) sole construction in their expanding range of urban motorcycle shoes. Concrete, this is an Alpinestars Transversal Protection Frame (TPF), which prevents – simply put – your toes and heel from meeting up. At the bottom, an advanced rubber sole with PU ensures – once again – a mixture of comfort and functional grip that is characteristic of the Chrome.
Sneakers like these used to have a negative image, especially because a couple of smarty pants kept hooking their laces behind the gear or brake lever. The intuitive, elastic closure at the top of the Chrome motorcycle shoe remedies that issue and makes it a lot easier to close up these motorcycle sneakers.
The higher the fashion level – and the level of ‘we don’t really look like motorcycle shoes’ –, the smaller the chance your shoes have a full-fledged shifting reinforcement. No problem on a scooter but on a motorbike, the multitude of shifting will quickly cause wear and tear. A shame of the shoes because this “wear and tear” will not often be incorporated in the warranty conditions.
You’d better take precautions, give yourself a hand or a foot in this case and add an extra layer to your motorcycle shoe or your gear lever. There are a number of options available in our range.
