Alpinestars’ Charger Boost gives you 18 litres of well-organised storage space to take safely with you while you’re on the road. This motorcycle backpack is composed out of sturdy and wear-resistant material and is very practical to use.
Two small carbon-coloured inserts on the exterior are just about the only actually hard components, besides the belt buckles. And still, the Charger Boost is a solid motorbike backpack. Maybe it won’t stay upright on its own but 600D and 400D Ripstop are well-known in the world of motorcycle gear and motorbike backpacks: wear-resistant, tear-resistant and a little weather- and wind-resistant. Staying upright isn’t its focus anyway. The Charger Boost is a motorcycle backpack that feels at home on your back.
You can barely feel the Charger Boost sitting there thanks to the adjustable shoulder straps, magnetic chest strap and hip strap shaping it into a proper harness. You can fit it in every possible direction, with one hand and one sly movement.
The Charger Boost motorbike backpack can contain quite a lot. Besides a 15” laptop compartment and a couple of (mesh) storage compartments, there’s also a large central storage compartment, which all combined delivers 18 litres of storage capacity. The 15” laptop seems a bit of a stretch to us. There’s no doubt with a 14” one; as soon as you go bigger, the thickness might become a factor. The central storage compartment and the padded laptop compartment can only be reached through one single – long – zipper. This zipper got two pullers and although you can definitely lock these with a small lock, we wouldn’t compare the Charger Boost to a vault.
At the base, there’s a helmet carrier. And now you know what the two red loops at the top are for. The traditional smaller compartments on the sides of many motorbike backpacks are missing here. The supplied rain cover is yellow and stands out when needed, just like the reflective elements always do.
Not suited for a major move, ideal for a sensible commuter or a sporty rider who wants to carry something every now and again.
