The Avro series are familiar to every DAINESE fan, and this ‘number 4’ in the range of advanced, versatile racing combo has a top and bottom part. Exactly, a two-piece suit. Safety and comfort in an almost irresistibly sharp and versatile combo. In matt black!
As often, DAINESE opts for a Tutu cowhide exterior. Important to know is that this leather has been treated and is therefore water- and oil-resistant with an equal focus for protection and comfort. Nowadays, even a complete leather motorbike suit – combo or not – can be worn comfortably. Definitely when there’s sufficient S1 bi-elastic material and micro-elastic stretch areas at the sleeves, under the arms, in the groin and on the sides – like here.
A leather racing combination like this Avro 4 should feel like a second skin: tight. It’s no luxury to aim for the precise size - don’t forget that leather settles and adjusts to your body. Ventilation in the Avro 4 consists of two ventilation openings at the chest. Together with the special Nanofeel®-lining, these ensure a level of coolness you wouldn’t expect from most (non-perforated) leather motorbike suits.
The Avro 4 is not waterproof. There are reflective details, which illustrates that this two-piece suit can be useful on public roads as well as on track. The compact racing hump seems to want to emphasise that.
Everything is provided to integrate a decent back protector. The composite protectors on knees, shoulders and elbows are CE-certified, just like the entire motorcycle jacket (EN-17092 CE). Pro Shape 2.0 CE, level 1 flexible hip protectors come standard and there are external sliders on the shoulders as well as on the knees.
Individual customisation options in a race combo like this depend strongly on the elasticity of the materials. That’s quite alright here, but because the bottom can be worn separately from the top, there are a number of ‘extra’ options. In this case, motorbike pants and a motorbike jacket are greater than the sum of its parts.
There is maintenance clothing and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer.
