The long-awaited successor to the DAINESE Carbon 3 is called – badum tss – the DAINESE Carbon 4 and is, just like its predecessor, a top class technical, sporty, high-quality motorcycle glove.
Dainese leaves little room for doubt: the Carbon 4 motorcycle glove matches perfectly with a one-piece or two-piece suit and is not afraid of breaking the occasional lap record. The combination of goatskin and sheep leather warrant excellent grip, feedback and protection.
The DCP-system (distortion control) protects the little finger and the knuckle protection is made of carbon, which explains the name of this motorcycle glove. The double layers of goatskin give additional protection, assisted by the polyurethane inserts (fingers and palm). The leather panel that covers the side of each hand is made out of one piece in order to prevent tears and exclude weak spots.
A motorcycle glove such as this Carbon 4 has pre-shaped fingers and enough elasticity to stay comfortable and especially functional. The long cuff – also leather – is almost entirely made of a cover flap with Velcro, so the sleeves of your suit can slide in easily.
You fix the Carbon 4 with the Velcro strip on the wrist.
It is not an evident balance: warrant safety and yet make sure that your fingertips get every little bit of feedback from the front wheel and the handle bars into your brain. That’s a delicate balancing act, proven by these motorcycle gloves. Fine motoring skills, feel, flexible comfort… It’s all coming together in the Carbon 4. Which of course, it already did.
