With the SCORPION Belfast EVO, the brand with the double scorpion stinger has marketed a fun, light and pleasant jet helmet. The second version actually: ‘EVO’ refers to the evolution the Belfast underwent since the previous version.
This evolution is, however, kept to a minimum because admittedly, the Belfast was already pretty good. The name of a capital is no coincidence because this is a jet helmet that comes into its own on a terrace table as well as on your head. The ECE22.06 certification is completely up to date.
Somewhere on the crossroads between retro, custom and yet contemporary is where we find this Belfast EVO. Three helmet shells still contain all helmet sizes. Because those shells are made of glass fibre, the scales only hit 1.000 grams. They don’t come much lighter than this and compared to some other brands, SCORPION still strives for ‘tight’ so this is a compact jet. The Ultra TCT-technology is recent and warrants an excellent shock absorption upon impact.
Don’t go looking for a transparent visor. With the term ‘Speedview’, SCORPION heads in the direction of an integrated sun visor. This is easy to operate directly, in the simplest way and it’s a welcomed addition for those who prefer to ride without goggles. This is possible, however, as witnessed by the leather belt-with-pushbutton that you’ll find on the back of the Belfast EVO.
In SCORPION motorcycle helmets, Kwickwick 2 refers invariably to the interior: completely removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates the internal moisture balance in a way that is more than comforting. Also in warmer conditions, by the way. And when you read the term ‘Kwikfit’ in a text about SCORPION motorcycle helmets, any spectacle-wearer will be instantly reassured: this motorbike helmet is perfectly equipped with cut-outs for the glasses’ temples.
A wide and close-fitting neck rim and the adjustable micrometric closure illustrate how much attention has gone to detail. The SCORPION Belfast EVO comes with a 5-year warranty.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
