This SCORPION ADX-2 has a dual homologation and thanks to its extra sun peak, you actually get three helmets in one. Full-face helmet, flip-up helmet (you can ride it with the guard up) and the adventurous one. The ADX-2 meets the ECE R22 06 safety standard.
The dual P/J homologation at SCORPION is an interesting and well-thought-out concept. Make sure to notice the red P-button behind the left hinge of the visor: this blocks the flipped-up chin guard in that position. We think that’s clever. SCORPION manufactures the ADX-2 in polycarbonate, with two helmet shells containing all helmet sizes. Although polycarbonate is no light-weight, the ADX-2 shows about 1750 grams on the scales which is still quite acceptable for a triple-function helmet like this one, with an integrated sun visor.
The top ventilation slider can be operated effortlessly with or without motorbike gloves. In the back, riding wind will pass through the helmet shell to exit just above the spoiler. The chin ventilation can be opened or shut. The ‘mesh’ details intentionally reflect the adventure allures of the ADX-2 and remind us of cross helmets. The transparent visor is ready to attach a Pinlock®-lens with Maxvision, which is even supplied in the box. With the term ‘Speedview’, SCORPION directs its attention to the integrated sun visor. This slider can be found in the bottom left.
Interesting fact: When flipping up the chin guard, the visor automatically closes. It will then stay in the closed position, even when you convert your helmet back to full-face mode.
Kwickwick C-liner has to do with the interior: completely removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates the internal moisture management in a way that is more than comforting. Also in warm conditions, by the way. When you read the word ‘Kwikfit’ in a text about SCORPION-motorbike helmets, every spectacle-wearer knows that they have been taken as part of the equation: this motorcycle helmet is perfectly suited, with cut-outs for the temples. A wide and well-fitting neck rim and the adjustable micrometric closure illustrate that attention is given to detail. The wind curtain chin is removable.
The SCORPION ADX-2 Solid comes with a five-year warranty.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. For cleaning the interior without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. In rainy weather this effect is even more pronounced. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to bring a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
