This Spirit HD is an upgrade to Cardo's most recent basic intercom model. That upgrade mainly consists of the fact that the 40mm-speakers that are standard here give the sound level an extra dimension, and the presence of an FM-radio. Furthermore, this remains an excellent basic package to communicate effortlessly with your passenger or a fellow motorcyclist. In the desert or at sea, the distance between the two of you can be up to 600 meters. In daily reality this will be less, but 600 meters remains a relatively long distance.
Furthermore: hearing GPS instructions and recording a phone call are no problem at all. The 40mm-HD speakers are the best an intercom can offer.
The newest communication line of Cardo is one that can update without a USB cable or laptop. This Spirit HD pretty much keeps itself updated and uses the Cardo Connect app to do so. And Bluetooth, but you needed that by default in the intercom world for some time. The new update capabilities get the winged name 'over the air software update'.

General remark: The world of electronics (which also includes intercoms, smartphones, GPS, etc.) is changing so fast that it is possible that some (outdated) devices are not compatible with each other in certain areas. Unfortunately, the manufacturer can't provide us with data that shows which combinations between intercoms/GPS and/or smartphones cause problems. A regular update of all electronic devices is therefore desirable to avoid problems as much as possible.
