The Abus 275 disc brake lock is a husky lad. Its size can be categorized among the larger brake locks by Abus, which means it’s hard to miss. To discourage is half the work in theft prevention so that’s a big plus.
Also supplied: an alarm function based on vibration detection. As soon as anyone starts fiddling with your motorbike or scooter, the alarm of at least 100dB will sound. There are different acoustic signals for battery status, activation and the alarm itself. Activation of the alarm is done by means of the ‘Push Down’ cylinder, which ensures that the locking pin automatically locks when clicked in.
With dimensions of 10 by 6 centimeters (and 7 centimeters high), the Abus 275 is a solid brick. The 5mm steel bolt, the lock casing and the supporting elements of the locking mechanism are made of special tempered steel. A CR2-standard battery is included, along with three keys. The Abus 275 gets ‘Extra Security’ level 9.
Tip from the RAD-house: Make it a habit to always attach the disc brake lock to your front wheel brake disc. It’s where the potential thief is most likely to spot it (that’s okay, a lock always has a dissuasive effect) and you are most likely to be reminded of it. You wouldn’t be the first to take off and end up with a distorted brake disc or a banged-up mudguard.
