The all-season Bogota Pro Drystar® motorcycle jacket is a technical masterpiece that is perfectly suited to perform during wet – very wet! – weather. Although we don’t want to downgrade it to a mere raincoat: comfort, temperature and optimal protection; they do fit into one package after all.
The key is Alpinestars’ technically laminated Drystar® waterproof membrane with a double usage but the exterior shell is made of Ripstop and 2L 450D nylon, the latter being a combination of six recycled materials. 600D reinforcements warrant added support in the most important, vulnerable areas. Other inserts focus on stretch qualities, also contributing to the comfort level.
As the Bogotá Pro is Tech-Air® Ready, you can ‘link’ it with the Tech-Air® 5 as well as the Tech-Air® 3 Airbag System.
The laminated Drystar® lining (or topcoat, see below) offers a superior breathing capacity and exceptional performances during wet weather conditions. It would be mad to claim otherwise but we have to add that at Alpinestars, Drystar® is a tried and tested membrane that effectively delivers excellent results. An additional asset is that the Drystar® membrane isn’t only wearable underneath the outer shell, it can be worn on top of it just as well. Alpinestars calls this system ‘Liner to drop’, which means that you can entirely construct this motorcycle jacket to your liking – or your circumstances. The DWR treatment (Durable Water Repellent) given to the membrane contributes to that, with the final result that precipitation cannot penetrate the first water-repellent layer, allowing the motorbike jacket to stay light and dry.
Then again, the Bogota Pro Drystar motorbike jacket has something to prove at the other end of the extreme spectrum. Wide ventilation panels on the entire chest can be operated with one hand and allow you to manage the climate at your will. If only we could do that in reality… The removable lining found underneath all these options, varies: 100 grams on the torso, 60 grams on the arms, resulting once again in a configured motorcycle jacket that gives the best of itself in every thinkable circumstance.
There are a few more things to mention with regard to that configuration: the adjustment options are legion, with centring straps, adjustable straps on the upper arms, press studs on top of that and a drawstring below that. The collar even has (sliding) options.
We kind of think we haven’t yet discovered all the storage space in this Bogotá Pro Drystar®-motorcycle jacket. The exterior pockets in the front (two of them) count as double and we are certain about the storage compartment on the lower back as well. The latter illustrates just how well-suited this Bogotá Pro Drystar® is in the touring motorbike coat department.
The impact protection is Level 2 CE Nucleon Flex Pro elbow and shoulder protectors. Back and chest protectors in the direction of the Nucleon Flex Pro Ci chest protectors and Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2 certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1-certified) are optional.
Connecting and/or combining this motorcycle jacket with the eponymous motorbike trousers seems apparent.
