It is remarkable how devices that were updated recently (2022) no longer have a traditional FM-radio, due to the troublesome supply of electronic chips and components.
The reason behind that decision is that it is better to have a proper functioning intercom without FM-radio than no intercom at all, so the least essential element is cut.
This obviously doesn’t mean you have to go through life in silence now: there’s still the option to listen to music through your smartphone or external MP3-player or even to an online FM-station with weblink. It even sounds better, without static. The only disadvantage is that the data usage of your smartphone gets a little boost on the way.
The 20S headset was already the pinnacle of motorcycle communication and now Sena just takes it one step further with the 20S EVO.
Facelift in a positive sense
The 20S EVO is the successor to the original 20S. With a better design, more stability and a higher functionality it is just a little bit better than its predecessor. The 20S EVO received a fixed shark fin antenna, replacing the folding antenna from previous versions. This not only looks better; it also contributes to a higher stability of the intercom connections and even provides a more solid range. Add that to the hardware updates and you know that the 20S EVO has become better and stronger. Facelifts can be disappointing, but not in this case.
What's good, is kept good
The 20S was number one in Bluetooth communication, and this is retained in the EVO version. Talking to eight other drivers over a distance of two kilometers* is no problem at all. The clear, precise and 'noise-free' HD quality of the sound is still present. The intelligibility of the Sena 20S EVO remains unparalleled thanks to the "Advanced Noise Control". The Bluetooth 4.1 technology, with quality stereo sound, is an upgrade.

Multitasking
Yes, audio multi-tasking is perfectly possible. Having an intercom conversation while listening to music or GPS instructions at the same time is no problem at all. Frustrations of being interrupted by messages are a thing of the past. The different things don't interrupt each other, but overlap in a pleasant way. It makes the ride all the more enjoyable.
Ease of use
The unique jog dial has been retained, making it very easy and intuitive to operate the multi-faceted features. A motion sensor and your voice are all you need to operate the 20S EVO. A simple shake is enough to link several Bluetooth devices. On the road you control everything hands free, with your voice. Intuitive technology makes everything almost effortless. Of course, the optional remote gives you even more flexibility.
General note: The world of electronics (which also includes intercoms, smartphones, GPSs, etc.) is changing so fast, that it is possible that some (outdated) devices are not compatible with each other in certain areas. Unfortunately, the manufacturer can't provide us with data that shows which combinations between intercoms/ GPSs and/or smartphones cause problems. A regular update of all electronic devices is therefore desirable to avoid problems as much as possible.
