The Horizon 3 – the motorcycle pants – has the same properties and qualities as the eponymous motorbike jacket, with just as much comfort and protection. Waterproof, laminated and suited for just about every weather condition. Price-quality ratio, the Horizon 3 H2O can be found in the laminated lead group.
The successor to the Horizon 2 is still a technical masterpiece because besides a combination of wear- and tear-resistant materials (450D 2L and ripstop 2L), you also need to consider the laminated hydratex®-membrane. The latter is obviously breathable and waterproof, while the motorbike pants (thanks to the lamination) will almost always remain dry – or at least, quick-drying. Yes, also from the outside. This means that comfort is a given in all conditions. Even more so knowing that there’s a removable thermal lining.
This will probably mean that it heats up fast, right? We know you’re thinking it. Well, no. Just like the jacket, the Horizon 3 motorbike pants have been equipped with the direct VCS | ventilation zippers, equipped with the Aquadefence system. The chunky ventilation panels on the upper legs can be fixed with pushbuttons when open. Once open, two large mesh sections ensure a direct airstream around your legs.
The only downside – well, because we really wanted to include one – is that you are sacrificing a little bit of storage space and the pockets have become a bit smaller. They’re still big enough so we can live with that sacrifice.
With regard to cut, REV’IT! went for a standard touring shape. Pretty straightforward and well, straight down. There are a number of adjustment options, getting in and out of them is easy – even with motorcycle boots at your feet – and the Horizon 3 H2O was given all the REV’IT!-specific properties.
Strapper-suspenders are part of the possibilities, there is a grip/anti-skid panel where needed, everything stretches just far enough but never too much… Comfort and flexibility in motorbike pants, that’s what it comes down to.
