Motorbike pants in this price category can mean one of two things: either there is gold stitched into the seams or it is a phenomenal concept, new and unique, and you get two pants for the price of one. In this case, there’s no golden seams.
The Stratum GTX motorbike pants are a terrific combination with the eponymous motorbike jacket. You get two pairs of (motorcycle) pants of unprecedented technicity and each layer fulfils a number of specific functions. By combining extra base layers and/or thermal layers, both the equator and the North Cape come into play. The Stratum GTX motorbike pants consist of full-blown 3L laminated GORE-TEX motorbike pants, wind and watertight that are literally supported by mesh motorbike pants that contain all the impact protection.
The inner layer (AA-certified) is actually a pair of mesh pants, structured from different mesh materials. Wear-resistant, abrasion-resistant, a whole lot of ventilation and equipped with extra leather panels on the lower legs to ensure sufficient grip and contact with your motorbike. Above the knees it kind of resembles chainmail but with actual freedom of movement. At the bottom, the inner layer slides into your motorbike boots and it is this layer that contains the SEESOFT®- and SEEFLEX®-impact protectors. This way, these stay close to the body, which not only optimises comfort but also safety.
The laminated outer layer consists of 3L GORE-TEX which is the absolute best in this field with regard to wind and waterproofness. The top layer fits easily, thanks to the long zips on both pant legs. In itself, the outer layer is class-B certified, which means that you should combine them with the inner layer for maximum safety and protection.
The Stratum GTX motorbike pants on their own are high-quality motorbike pants, besides as part of this unique concept. Whether you’re looking at the pockets or zooming in on the closure, everything has been designed and manufactured with an eye for detail and sophistication. Top quality, without a doubt!
