The Sprinkbok 3L is a striking motorbike jacket with a heap of possibilities. You’ll get places with a waterproof Absoluteshell-membrane and an autonomously wearable (down) lining, but the outer layer of this handsome 3-in-1 is also an eye-catcher.
The panels of cowhide (suede) have something to do with that. They create a visual and stylish contrast between the Duratex™ and Mugello-material that make up the outside of the Springbok 3L. It delivers a wear and tear-resistant and a fine-looking motorbike jacket. One that offers a lot of ventilation options too: exits on the back, inlets on the sleeves and chest. ‘Wide ventilation openings’ on the sleeves and chest, we should say. You can just about unzip half your front (and keep it open). Same in the back? Does that suffice to turn the Springbok 3L into a South-African jumping jack? Well, there’s a raison d’être for mesh jackets as well but the range of this motorbike jacket is increased substantially because of it. The down lining is perfect in winter and the Absoluteshell-membrane can present impressive waterproof qualities.
The cut of the Sprinkbok 3L is ‘standard’, which in the world of DAINESE means it doesn’t quite make the three-quarters touring cut cut. So, relatively short and when you see a fellow-biker pass you by fluttering and flapping, then they’ll probably be wearing something else. The centring straps-with-belt, double pushbuttons on the sleeves and the drawstring allow for a couple of adjustment options. Including the Velcro strips at the sleeve ends and on the collar.
Strictly speaking, there are no chest pockets, although the construction of the ventilation panel leaves a few options open. With another two slash pockets in the front and a cargo-mesh pocket on the back, there’s more than enough storage space. You can also keep some things inside.
The impact protection is impressive as well: Pro-Armor, level 2 shoulder and elbow protectors come standard. A back protector and/or a chest protector (double, two-part version) can be fitted quickly and easily. Reflective inserts do what they are supposed to do at night without drawing too much attention to themselves during the day.
We definitely need to mention the integrated Magic Connection™-system which allows you to temporarily attach your motorbike gloves to your jacket in the bottom right with a magnet. They obviously need to be equipped with the Magic Connection™-system as well.
You can combine the Springbok 3L with the eponymous motorbike trousers for a perfect combination that can withstand every adventure.
