The Eclipse 2 operates under the ‘back to basics’ principle and is a maximally ventilated motorcycle jacket. Ideal when you start to think that you might just as well hit the road without a motorcycle jacket … Safety and comfort go hand in hand here and were processed into an improved motorbike jacket with adjustment options.
This female version has a male counterpart by the way and the serial number ‘2’ implies that there’s also a previous version. The most important differences can be found in the improved mesh material. “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler,” said the late Albert Einstein and the same goes for the Eclipse 2. Although the name suggests the sun disappearing, it may certainly shine bright when you’re wearing this summery motorbike jacket.
Maybe even a little more than before: the mesh is more robust than we remember. At the same time, it is still permeable, light and naturally ventilated. However, there aren’t many compromises on safety because all the impact areas (shoulders, parts of the back and arms) are made of 600D wear-resistant polyester. That combination renders all membranes and ventilation zippers superfluous, which brings us back to Einstein. And back to basics.
Nevertheless, there’s more to it underneath. The impact protection was updated as well and the SEESMART CE-level 1 shoulder and elbow protectors are the chosen protective elements because they stand out in that same principle we used before. Because they perform without being loud about it. Who wants to can optionally fit in a SEESOFT® RV or SEESOFT® Air CE back protector.
The cut of the Eclipse 2 is short. Typical REV’IT! we could say, although it’s not really an option to strive for as little motorcycle jacket as possible to then have it reach halfway down your legs. No, short is the right way to go here and with two belt loops you effortlessly and comfortably prevent the whole thing to bulge up during your ride and to be riding around with a bare back.
The fit is suitable for calm(er) rides. So freedom of movement and a little room, even though the latter is an individual preference. With a collar with pushbutton, an additional button on the upper arms and Velcro strips on the sleeve ends and waist, you can adjust to your comfort and to your liking.
There’s storage space in the two zippable slash pockets and inner pocket. There’s a reflective accent in the logo on the back.
There is storage space in the two zippered side pockets and inside pocket.
