You don’t have to have a MotoGP level of riding to go and have fun on track. You don’t have to splurge on the same budgets, either, to wear a technologically superior motor racing suit. With this argon 2 1-piece suit, REV’IT! has marketed a full-worthy and sharply priced basic model.
That the ‘2’ means that there was also a ‘1’, is pretty clear. The most prominent innovations can be found in the newer and lighter materials.
This is still called ‘Entry level’. What does this mean exactly? A little less detail and no neoprene collar. Fewer adjustment options. Just to say: this doesn’t mean that you get less protection or that the basic quality of each component has been skimped on. Au contraire: this allows you to skim just as many curbstones as a full-option MotoGP racing suit.
Should you want to close that little gap, you could consider treating yourself to a Supersonic thermal suit, which generates an even better body temperature regulation than your own body can and which lifts the wearing comfort of the Argon 2 another level.
Monaco cowhide is what makes up most of the suit. Wear and tear-resistant, as it should be. And in this case, widely perforated for a proper air circulation. REV’IT! provided PWR|Shell – stretch material in all the right places, which results in freedom of movement and additionally, sitting and wearing comfort. This is even more pronounced thanks to the accordion panelling.
External protective material consists of shoulder sliders and removable knee sliders. No external elbow sliders: if needed, you can count on a lot of internal safety material. SEESMART CE-level 1- protectors on the hips (RV30-L1-B) are standard, just like the BETAC CE-level 1 protectors on knees, shoulders and elbows. If that still isn’t enough: the Argon 2 one-piece is prepared to fit an optional SEESOFT RV or SEESOFT Air CE-level 2 back protector and can contain a SEESOFT CE-level 1 chest protector.
That it can get toasty on and off the track, is not news to you. The mesh fabric on the shoulders of the REV’IT! Argon 2 suit also acts as a heat exhaust and chimney. Warm air rises, in a motorcycle suit too, and can escape through this outlet. If you’re going down that straight with your head tucked behind your screen, you’ll still feel the riding wind pass your upper body.
The flat zips in the front, at the wrists and at the trouser legs are of decent quality. The hump has obviously been aerodynamically designed for a superior airstream on your motorcycle and top performances at high speeds. It also doubles as a storage space for the hydrabag you can fit in.
We are confident to recommend this suit. As a first motor racing suit. To get familiarised. As a budget-friendly solution for the occasional racer. For the enthusiast, the rider who wants to be fully protected without too much frills but with the same racing lines as the MotoGP. On track as well as on the motorcycle racing suit.
