The Catalyst H2O is a waterproof touring motorcycle jacket with a number of specific assets. The light weight is provided by the exterior fabric, creating a motorcycle jacket that is versatile, comfortable and safe. We just might add stylish as well. Somewhere between ‘sporty and adventurous’ and ‘ideal for the city’ - that’s where we’re at.
This completely new motorcycle jacket design consists on the outside of noteworthy textile. Wear-resistant and flexible, soft enough to remind us of softshell and yet with sufficient structure to inspire confidence. Just to be clear: the outer material is actual Softshell 3L. The ambition to have a calm ride and give it full throttle every now and then is perfectly possible. Or so it feels. Below that first – really very pleasant – textile layer is the waterproof lining with two layers of hydratex® membrane and an equally removable thermal lining. This 3-in-1 can be used just about anywhere anytime. It’s no company secret at REV’IT! that you can take this Catalyst H2O to be steered towards the south on the highway all day long, as to use it to attack the Alphen or Pyrenees passes for a couple of rounds. Rumbling into the valley a little while later, don’t forget to open up the ventilation zippers on the chest to give refreshing riding wind free play.
The Catalyst H2O is a ‘regular fit’, which means it should fit short and snugly around your body. REV’IT! never produces fluttering, flapping gear because comfort lies in choosing the right size that should guarantee a seemingly seamless fit for every motorcyclist. There are individual adjustment options at the collar (button), the lower arm (Velcro) and at the bicep (button). For extra comfort, the inside of the collar has been finished with a soft fabric. These adjustment options are mainly put in place to compensate the absence or presence of the membrane.
The impact protection consists of SEESMART CE-level 1 protectors on the arms and the shoulders and there’s the option to fit a SEESOFT RV or SEESOFT Air CE-level 2 back protector.
The travel ambitions of the Catalyst H2O require a lot of storage compartments. Optically, these don’t seem to be too present, but that could just be the design. With an inner pocket (and additional inner pockets in the thermal lining and the hydratex®-membrane) and two slash pockets in the front, it’s easy to keep a couple of things at hand. That this is no ordinary three-quarters touring motorcycle jacket in the traditional sense, should be clear by now.
No need to worry about visibility with a motorcycle jacket like this one you’d think, but just to be sure, REV’IT! added a number of laminated reflective logos.
With the jeans loop and a short connecting zip you can easily head off for that day of highway miles in motorcycle trousers, to later tour those passes in motorcycle jeans.
