As a manufacturer of motorcycle clothing, Macna feels most at home in an urban environment, something which this Riggor seems to highlight. It excites the city dweller in each of us. You can wear it on your motorcycle or scooter to ride around safe and sound, but you can also flaunt this Riggor without a motorised two-wheeler around.
The Riggor motorcycle jacket is a 2-in-1 with a watertight Raintex® membrane that’s easily removable. In doing so, what is left is a wear and tear-resistant exterior in ripstop. About the Raintex® membrane, we can add – before we remove it – that it’s breathing, waterproof, windproof, soft and comfortable and that the Easy cuff technology at the sleeve ends prevents any annoying loops or press studs from getting in the way: the waterproof membrane is fixed to the outer layer of the motorcycle jacket with a zipper. That ripstop outer layer especially excels in lightness and sturdiness.
The Easy Cuff belongs to the same series as the Belt Loop and the hoodie holder; technical details that make a biker’s life a whole lot more practical while improving on the Riggor motorcycle jacket’s comfort. By the way, you don’t always need that hoodie holder because the hood is removable. Just to differentiate between ‘let’s ride all day long’ and ‘or we could go for a walk down town’.
There is no (removable) thermal lining, there is, however, a ventilation zip on the chest, and air outlets. The seasoned all-season rider will find this to be a shortcoming in winter, but they’ll probably won’t be up for a walk through town on a sunny day. Just to be clear, the Riggor is a very decent all-rounder.
A safe all-rounder, that too. You decide on the CE-certified back protector, the level 1 elbow protection and level 1 shoulder protection come standard. This awards the Riggor an A label for safety.
The cut of the Macna Riggor is short and casual. Not too tight, but relaxing and adjustable around the hips and the sleeve ends. Two slash pockets, a chest pocket and a couple of inner pockets provide the necessary storage space.
