Attention: this version does not include batteries.
The Foton 2.0 RTX by Macna is a heated motorcycle glove designed to offer proper protection against the weather combined with different heat levels and comfort.
The back of this electrically heated winter motorcycle glove is made of Softflex textile. The palm is covered in goat leather and an integrated Raintex membrane warrants waterproofness without compromising in the field of breathability. Internally, the thermal lining is in charge of comfort.
The integrated TPU knuckle protector on the back of the hand offers additional protection, as do the detailed reinforcements in the palm, on the thumb and the outside of the little finger. The Velcro closure – in a 30°-angle under the thumb for more movability – makes sure the motorcycle glove stays in place. There’s a second Velcro closure on the wrist that allows you to adjust the cuff of the motorcycle gloves for more comfort in or over the sleeves of your motorcycle jacket.
The Macna Foton 2.0 motorcycle gloves are comfortable and equipped with practicalities such as a visor wiper and index fingers with Touch Tip to operate a touchscreen.
In this version, the Foton 2.0 RTX motorcycle glove by Macna is delivered WITHOUT batteries or a battery charger. There’s also a package that includes everything.
The idea behind that is that not everyone will want to purchase the batteries and charger. The Dual Power Technology by Macna also leaves you free to choose between a 7.4 and a 12 Volt power supply, so the Foton 2.0 RTX might as well be powered through a cable running from your motorcycle battery. It all depends on what you want, find practical, is most useful and the capacity and usage time you require.
Loose batteries offer more freedom but you run the risk of them losing charge, while a cabled solution is literally connected to the motorcycle with a warranty of endless power supply. Battery-wise, in ascending order of performance, you get to choose between 7,4V 2,2A, 7,4V 3A and 12V 3A.
If you opt for the cabled solution, then you’ll need at least one power cable (directly from the motorcycle battery, via a DIN plug (BMW) or a 12-V cigarette plug) and a double connection cable. You connect the first cable to the motorcycle battery, while the second one splits the power between the motorcycle gloves. That connection cable can be replaced by the Macna Nucleo or the Macna Ascent.
As you can tell, it takes a little consideration going for heated gloves, deliberating the most accurate system and its use, best matching your particular circumstances. After that, you’re off for a very enjoyable motorcycle experience. There are four heating levels, each indicated in their own colour by means of the battery level indicator. The indicator on the back of the hand also shows how much power you have left and allows you to change the level by simply pressing it.

You can operate your smartphone without having to remove your motorcycle gloves, thanks to the Touch Tip on the index finger. That same finger is also equipped with a visor wiper.
Seen as there are electronic parts inside these motorcycle gloves, it’s evident that they can’t be washed in the washing machine. It’s okay to wash them by hand, on condition that you hand-dry the connectors with a hair blower afterwards.
